Can someone suggest a BibTeX style, which makes of:
@book{COMPEND,
author="Gierz, G. and Hofmann, Karl Heinrich and Keimel, K. and
Lawson, J. D. and Mislove, M. and Scott, D. S.",
title="{A compendium of continuous lattices}",
publisher={Springer-Verlag},
address={Berlin-Heidelberg-New York},
year={1980},
}
something like:
[GHK${}^+$]
?

So far I have used short.bst from
http://www.lsv.ens-cachan.fr/~markey/BibTeX/short/?lang=en
This works fine, but does [GHKLMS], which is a little bit too long.

I've also had a look at
http://learn.tsinghua.edu.cn:8080/2001315450/showbst.html , but didn't
find anything.

Any suggestions as well as any links to "catalogues" of bibtex styles
are welcome.

TIA
Martin

I just adapted short.bst into shorter.bst, that does precisely what you
asked for (starting from 5 authors):
http://www.lsv.ens-cachan.fr/~markey/BibTeX/short/shorter.bst

I did not have much time to try it, and it might not do exactly what it
should. Don't hesitate to tell me...

Cheers,

Thanks a lot!
So far it seems to work fine.
Best regards
