(Sorry if this is a duplicate...maybe the Internet doesn't work before 9 AM Sunday...never tried it before...)
I think it's time to paint the frame of the router. There's some other work that needs to be done, but some of it just doesn't make sense to do until the frame is painted. Looks like we'll have (barely) adequate temps this week, with highs around 60 Mon-Wed.
I've got the whole week off, and would love to spend a full day at clxn tinkering. I don't think I could reasonably disassemble the router and drag the frame outside for paint alone, but two of us should be able to do it easily in a six-hour day. I've got daycare from 9 to 5, more or less.
I've also cut and drilled two new Z rails, which should help our slop issue. I may also make new Z-rail bearing eccentric bushings, with much more range of adjustment. Right now they are 3/8" bushings with an eccentric 1/4" hole, which gives less than 0.060" adjustment. I may make 1/2" or even 3/4" bushings with the 1/4" hole, which would give something like 1/4" adjustment...more than enough for whatever adjusting is needed.
Anyone game to spend the bulk of either Mon, Tue, or Wed on it? Or maybe Friday, but weather is not as promising, and I hope all of us are deeply embedded in family by then!
