Sorry for the newbie questions but I've been searching for answer on this all afternoon to no avail.

I am trying to link my Samsung Galaxy S2 (Android 2.3.6) to my Polar WearLink from my Polar FT4 watch.  The watch syncs fine (so the monitor is transmitting okay) however when I try to sync automatically with CardioTrainer program it is unsuccessful.  If I try to pair manually sync through Bluetooth settings on my phone, I find my bluetooth headset, my Mac, but no Polar monitor.

Has anyone solved this?  I am hoping it's a simple fix because I am anxious to give this a try!

It's possible that you don't have the blue tooth transmitter, just a standard transmitter.

Yes, I am almost positive that none of the Polar watches are
Bluetooth, they all use their own proprietary "Wearlink" transmission,
or Wearlink with WIND.
In fact its very hard to find info on the Bluetooth Heart Rate monitor
on Polar's web site.
Its almost like they dont want you to buy it so you have to get one of
their watches instead of using your phone ;-)

You can buy the Bluetooth heart rate monitor from a few places, and I
got mine for a reasonable price from Amazon, quite recently.
I have an older Polar F7 watch as well which uses Wearlink, and have
had both going a the same time. A bit of an overkill I know :-).

The blue tooth transmitter should work with all of Polar's monitors. I've chosen to not spend the money for one at this time due to all the reported issues with them & CT.

  Hi there,

I have Polar Bluetooth and it works just fine with my Samsung galaxy S2 and my LG L3 E405. You probably don´t have the Bluetooth version, so it won´t work with your phone.

  Cheers,

    Rodolfo
