CR34 Weight

We're still in pursuit of a CR34. We had a mini survey done a week ago and all is well. We'll be flying out tomorrow morning to make the personal inspection. When checking into things boat related here in Montana, size does matter. Does anyone know what a CR34 really weighs?

I guess I should have been a little more explicit. I have read the published numbers of 15,500# and 17,000# but am wondering what a CR34 weighs in real life. Is the 17,000 pounds a good #?

From the 2006 list of specifications: Dry displacement CR34 17,100, CR42
26,800 lbs. My 42 weighs 35,000 lbs (measured by travel lifts at haul out), with cruising gear and tanks 2/3 filled. I have no genset an no davits and no heavy RIB hanging off the transom. Draw your own conclusions as to how heavy a 34 really is.

Something to consider is that by 2006 (date of specs below), I am pretty sure that CR had switched to the 34/36, which added two feet to the stern and about 1000 lbs to displacement. Nevertheless, you can find so many different weights specified about the web for the earlier CR34s, that without consulting the builder, you can only guess. I have seen weights claimed between 15,500 and 18,000 in various listings. Hmm.

Our Cabo Rico 34 arrived Friday by truck and we used a crane to set her on stands. All went well even though the wind was really blowing. The crane operator gave me a weight of about 18,500 pounds with no mast, a full fuel tank, and no water. I'd guess she would way about 18,500 totally dry with her mast stepped. We were incredibly pleased with the trucking company, Andrews Trucking, and especially with Kevin, our driver. It feels good to have her home but it'll be nice when she gets her bottom wet.
