Long time no post, but I have been working hard recently on my third towel, and I am once again coming dangerously close to flying it.
If you remember, I built 2 towels with cardboard wings, both with disasterous results. See my earlier posts for some pix and vids of me trying to fly it... I also volunteered to help man the Brooklyn Aerodrome exhibit at the Maker Faire last year, where Breck proved beyond a doubt that my cardboard towel was too heavy. I finally scored some foam at the end of last year, and partially built a third towel, which spent all winter through summer hanging on my wall.
Well, I have finally had some time to catch the Towel Bug again, and I have volunteered once again for the Maker Faire. And in that spirit, I have finished my third build and "blinged" it out a bit, with some tape and some stickers. I used orange tape to outline the edges and put in some stripes, and some decals to make it all a bit more visible when its flying.
