Hi!

I just installed the VM and downloaded the BBB package from GitHub for develop my own branded server. Everything seems to be ok, I point my browser to the IP address named by the VM but when I connect to the server the default presentation never appears even if I try to upload a new PDF it appears in gray but not the presentation and if I use the whiteboard tools doesn't work.

Any one can help me please!

PS: by the way it seems to be the new version of BBB because it comes with new tools in the whiteboard and shortcuts option.

Hi,

if you are just getting started with development of BigBlueButton, we recommend you check out the source for 0.80 (not master).  See

Where it states:

Let's say you are trying to fix  Issue 100  and want to develop on v0.8. (Note: v0.81 is in development, so we recommend if you starting to develop on BigBlueButton you checkout the release 0.8 as show below.)

git checkout -b fixing-issue-100 v0.8
Recommend you check out the release tagged with 'v0.8' until we reach beta for 0.81.

Regards,... Fred

Dear Fred,

I'm a little bit confused about the things I have to do,

1. Delete/Remove the current directory "bigbluebutton" inside /dev/
2. Checkout the source to 0.80 V (git checkout -b fixing-issue-100 v0.8)
3. Clone the new branch

Or

I have to switch back to the packaged client first and the the other steps??

Is ok the order I placed??

Thanks, I'm new in BBB.

Hi dgalo9,

You don't need to delete the current directory.  The checkout command will switch source code to the release tagged 'v0.8'.  Just do

 git checkout -b branch_name v0.8

and you'll have a new branch called 'branch_name' with the 0.8 source.
