It doesn't play on Safari, due to the recording.wav file returning a 404.

Hi Sam,

The problem with Safari is it doesn't support any open source audio codec other than wav files.  Wav files are HUGE.  When we publish the recording, we choose not to include the wav file on bigbluebutton.org to reduce the size of the playback.

Is it an option for you to use FireFox or Chrome?

Believe us, we wish Safari supported Vorbis, a very nice open source audio codec that is supported by FireFox and Chrome.  See

Regards,... Fred

That explains it, I thought it may have been something you were unaware of. Yes, using Chrome or Firefox is not a problem.

Its a huge problem for us also however ignoring Safari is not an option for us, so I convert the files to AAC/M4A files as well as OGG during processing. Not ideal, but it seemed the lesser of two evils compared to using MP3.
