What board games do you suggest for a 2 1/2 year old? He is playing
(correctly mind you) Candy Land. He draws a card, reads it, moves his
piece, and even discards correctly. But what should his next game be?

Go Away Monster! My boy loved it at 3.

I'll second Go Away Monster. And for my boys, Orchard and Gulo Gulo
worked great. Just remember to be flexible. Sometimes it's all about
playing with the bits, or just a few rounds before their attention is
redirected.

I would halfway-second Go Away Monster.  But if he's already playing Candyland, he might be too advanced for it.  My son is 20 months old, and we've bought him Candyland, Go Away Monster, and something called The Goodnight Moon Game (my wife saw it at goodwill - looks like a matching game of some sort).  The only one we've tried with him is Go Away Monster, which he likes, but doesn't play anywhere near correctly yet.  His favorite game is Imperial Crusade Armada - the credit-card-like ships in the game are great for him because he can't ruin them, and the mini tape-measure that comes with it is his new favorite toy.  =)
