BEAUti 1.7.x with BEAST 1.6.1 ?

I would like to assemble an .XML file to run on the CIPRES system which is still running BEAST 1.6.1.  Can an .XML I build in BEAUti 1.7.2 run on BEAST 1.6.1 or must I build it using the older BEAUti ? Thanks in advance for advice.

Some models available in BEAUti 1.7.2 are not in BEAST 1.6 so won't work. It may work if it use the core features that have been around since 1.6 (but the easiest way of ensuring this would be to use 1.6 BEAUti).
