Mid-Bay Calibration Session Tomorrow!

Just a reminder, that tomorrow we will be meeting in Menlo Park for a post MakerFaire calibration session.  Please note that the Dumbarton Bridge is closed, so plan ahead.

If you are planing on coming, please reply (and mention if you are bringing a printer) and also mark yes to the Google Calender invite so I can get a good head count for planning.

I plan on replacing the electronics on my Mendel with the latest RAMPS setup.  Should I still bring my printer?  I assume there are mechanical and software/electrical components to calibrating the printers.

So far you and me might be the only ones there. That has not stopped me from hosting an event with only one attendee ;).

And you can see my sawn off hot-end. Still having temp issues, but get much less ooze!  Just need you to make that heater design into a nozzle I think. Maybe even one with a teflon liner. Either way its good.

I'm ok if you want to cancel and reschedule for a time and place so more people can make it, especially since my electronics won't be ready.

Also, somebody mentioned we need a digital caliper.  I don't have access to one of these.  Is anybody bringing one we can use?

Okay, that's perfectly fine! Don't worry about me. My dad is going to TSSJ tomorrow for a class there at 2:00 PM, so I just mentioned it. I'm actually not sure if I need to do anything with my machine right now. I'm just waiting for some things for my heated bed to arrive, like the PCB. I actually probably don't even need to come tomorrow, since there's really nothing to do, but I still may drop by. Next Wednesday, I could install the heated bed, though. So don't go out of your way if you don't need to spend tomorrow at TSSJ, but if you're there, I may drop by with my dad. Thank you so much for offering, and I look forward to Wednesday for the heated bed!

Hey Jon,

I got the sd card reader for my ultimaker but can't seem to get it to work.. Sd init fails.. Some one in the ultimaker forum had the same symptoms and it was a result of bad soldering between level shifter and sd card on the pcb..

I have no idea how to go about troubleshooting a pcb.. is this something you or someone else can help with?

Yea. Are you going to come to the MP session today?  If not, you are welcome to stop by SJ tomorrow. If you can take a closeup photo I might be able to tell you if it is a soldering problem.

Okay, Jon, I guess I'm coming by the Techshop San Jose today. Not much to do, probably just more questions to ask. Do you happen to have a spare 100K thermistor that I can buy off you? I'll need it for the heated bed, which I hope to make before Replicator Wednesday if the PCB comes on time.
