I've been beavering away at my auduino based synth.

I'm getting there now with it, but seeing as a few people have asked
for it, I thought I'd add some midi in code to the vanilla auduino v5
code.

You can find it in the files list.

I'd recommend reading the listing before you upload it.

I have added a small section at the top with a few new variables, a
"Serial.begin" command in the setup routine, commented out the usual
"syncPhaseInc" command and added a midiIn() call instead, which calls
the routine at the end of the listing.

Works a treat with the serial-midi software interface from www.spikenzielabs.com
which means if you already have a USB cable you don't need a midi
shield to run midi between a pc and an arduino.

Simply run the Serial_MIDI_Converter_V2C.exe, select the COM port the
arduino is set up to use, select the right speed (see listing) and
make sure the midi you're playing has something playing on channel 0
(and that your midi player is has the right midi interface selected).

Enjoy :)

Hi, is your code still posted with the MIDI IN addition?  I don't see it in the files list.  Thanks!

By the looks of it the files section isn't here any more.

I'll take a look, but the code is from 2009 - I've got no idea if I've
got a copy still.

I did a few things with the auduino - added keyboard support, midi and
even played about with LFO's to modulate the signal with as well as
adding a simple home made vactrol adsr along with an opamp. Let me
see if I can dig it out. There's a slim chance I've still got it...

Thanks for writing back!  Wow sounds like you did most of the things I have been thinking about implementing!  if you find anything..that would be awesome...just playing around with it for fun.  Thanks in advance!!!!  Brett

hint: Check out Snazzyfx Ardcore, a Eurorack Module that does pretty much everything audio/control voltage related, running arduino code.
