Hi everyone,
Sorry to bother. I am fairly new to AtlantaMDF, and have been to a few of the meetings recently. I have a background in BI/data analysis/programming primarily using MS Access for an electronics company.
I was laid off last year due to a merger and have been looking to take my skills and talents to the next level in full enterprise platforms, namely SQL Server. I have worked with, studied countless hours and bought/read books concerning SQL Server and certification material, about T-SQL and SSRS for example, during my downtime unemployed. It is somewhat of a catch-22 with finding work however. Many companies understandably want people who already have years of professional experience with the SQL Server platform. I've been getting noticed and have had several interviews that go well on their own, but having a hard time getting my foot in any doors mainly with the niche platform experience I have.
It's been a struggle and I am trying to support my children through this. If anyone knows of even a entry level position where I might find an opportunity, or has any guidance, please let me know. I am a self starter, learn and adapt quickly, and have reporting and programming experience under challenging requirements. The level of work I have performed, pushing the limits of Access and cross-platform data management for a
smaller company, is the level where most companies don't use Access to
begin with and go to the next step up. If this makes sense.
I attached my current resume. Thanks for reading this.
