NoSQL Databases: Riak and Cassandra

Hi,

As promised, the next two NoSQL databases will be covered in a meetup two weeks from now:

Topic: NoSQL Databases: Riak and Cassandra

Date: Wednesday, July 4th

Time: 18:30

Place: codebridge - http://www.codebridge.co.za/directions.htm

Simon Cross will talk about Riak, and Robert Koletka will show us Cassandra, for about 20 minutes to half an hour each, with some discussion afterwards. The goal is to understand the purpose of the database (especially in comparison to the other NoSQL datbases), when you would use it, and maybe when you would not.

There will be some beers available, and stragglers will head to dinner afterwards.

As usual, any feedback you wish to give on meeting times, days, locations, and other logistics, please mail me privately.
