Time for a forum?

Now that things are picking up in the google group I find it noticeably harder to keep up with the appropriate topics.

With a forum, we could separate out sub topics: announcements, filters, directives, the framework, etc..

What is everyone's thoughts?

I'd rather keep the mailing list for general announcements and refocus the questions to stackoverflow.

+1 on the stackoverflow , I had thought about this before, it would give angular a bigger audience and no need for setting up any infrastructure. 

Also they recently came up with an API that cd be useful

I was thinking of the forum as a solution for accumulating community examples of different topics.

I agree with the forum showcasing techniques and we really need a comprehensive highly visible FAQ section

I added the disqus integration to get API questions closer to the doc in hopes of filling in the blanks

But there is definitely need for a cohesive mechanism to get people answers

Forums brings preudo Structure. But they are messy very quickly and
the moderation overhead is huge sometimes.

Yes for stack overflow. Tagging, collections of answers and such are helpful.

I'm glad this discussion is happening, in my mind a couple of things need to occur

1. angularjs.org site encourages users to post questions there and states purpose for angular googlegroup
2. when new problem solving questions come in, kindly ask poster to post it there with tags, angularjs (at minimum) and then maybe one other like 'directive', 'ngResource', 'services' etc.
3. people watching gg posts hopefully will turn attention to stackoverflow. I do know that core devs are watching for posts.
