Tested with "android-x86-2.2-generic.iso"

WiFi doesn't work. Screen animation is pretty fast.

Tested with "android-x86.2.3-test-110205.iso"

WiFi works. Mostly stable. Sluggish screen animation.

I haven't tested audio part..

Tested with "generic_x86-20110604.iso" - ginger build from
http://mariuz.android-dev.ro
Again - WiFi doesn't work. Screen animation is pretty fast.

Has anyone a version figured out in which WiFi and screen animation
are working?

How do test this on the device,
do you boot from stick or virtual box?

I am wondering if there is a way to build a distribution for the W500
using an image of the ACER A500. I am looking especially for the
keyboardless operation. The A500 has soft buttons for HOME, BACK and
RUNNING APPLICATIONS. I could contribute the images of the A500
(BOOT, FLEXROM and RECOVERY).

The A500 and W500 are vastly different hardware. Thanks, but this
isn't quite that simple.

Mariuz's Nightly build generic works with it nearly 100% (correct
screen size, seems like the graphics are snappy, usb works) however
touch does not! There is another daily build which is the inverse of
this provided by moonman, perhaps the 2 can merge whatever they added?

I am planning on buying an Iconia Tab W500 and also plan on installing the Android x86 (and eventually possibly MacOS x86) How goes the Android installs and how do you guys like the W500? If you no longer like it, what would you have rather got?

Hi, I had tried the same with the same results.
Mariuz without touch but everthing else I`ve tested works fine.
Moonman touch works perfekt but no wifi etc.
The best graphic results (fast, nice fadings, resolution etc) i get with the 2.3 beta versions.

So it looks like there is no problem to use android on my w500 but i dont found any version where wifi and touchscreen works. Does anybody found a verion which can both?
The perfekt way would be a mix from moonmans touch drivers + mariuz drivers for connectiviti + graphics and speed from one of the 2.3 beta versions.
Hope that anybody find a way I wouldt be very very happy if i can get an android version to run on my acer iconia w500.

thanks you guys for any help

Hmm... Why one and the same image works so different on the identical devices?

Mine is working. So far I only found the camera not working. Touch is
working great. Some problems (flickering) noticed on screen. No
problem with WiFi.

Used android-x86-4.0-devel-amd_brazos.iso Copied onto 4gb
micro sd with unetbootin and used bottom USB port with micro sd
adaptor. Started w/o keyboard by holding the "Windows" button. That
was it. Came up, but had first a red frame until I connected to WI-FI.
TPK encryption on the network worked too. Have not yet tested multi
touch. Went through a few apps which worked. Had a crash (display) in
one of the games.

Hi,

have the same "problems" sometimes flickering in the top area of the screen. camera, blurtooth, sound and screen rotation doesnt work. the main problem is that a grafik error occur after the tab goes into suspend mode. and after maybe half an hour using the screen gets black and at reactivation we have the error again. after that you have to reboot. for me it wouldt be very perfect if this error doesnt occur i can live with the other problems but the reboots are not ok :)  i hope that anybody can help... thanks a lot
