This is off-topic for NDK.  Please see

for a similar discussion recently of native services.

This group is for application development using NDK.

Hello Glenn,

Thanks, for the reply..., but actually this is not the solution of my problem, which you have given.

Actually, currently, I am working in ndk-part, requirement is:

we have one device (like TV Setup box (such as: airtel digital TV or tata sky)), in that our own android build will run. and that device will be handle by remote. so basically i want to know that is there any way to write the specific service like (android-sdk java) to catch the signal which will coming from the remote?

and I have one question also, how to add RCU listener in C (ndk-code). we are using RCU remort to impliment this setup box.

please help me regarding this...

Thanks,
Jeetendra

I'm sorry, but this should go to android-porting@, not android-ndk@. There is no way to create a native service with the NDK, it's strictly for application development.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the reply and suggestion as well...

Actually main thing is that, I have to catch the signal which will be coming from the remote (WiFi RCU remote),  and our application will run in one of the android device.

So, I am confused is that, which technology i have to use to achieve this task? Android-Java (SDK) OR Android-C (NDK). If Java then how will I add listener to listen automatically all the signals, which will be coming from the WiFi-remote (RCU remote).

please help me regarding this issue..

Thank you very much,
Jeetendra
