TCP. what is the issue? is your device not able to connect to the
Google servers (like the wifi indicator doesn't turn blue)?

When I disconnect my device from the wifi I can get all the messages, but inside the network I cannot get any of them. I made a new rule from my firewall to the TCP ports 5228-5229-5230 from Outside to Inside my network, but still doesn't work.

Christian,
you need to enable communication on 5228-30 from inside to outside.
The device tries to connect to the Google servers on port 5228, not
viceversa,

Hi,
Our Security policy requires IP address range to open up 5228-30. Can Google provide IP range  for GCM servers?

thanks

Vinay,

Thanks

Alexander,
No did not find any answers. Tried reaching out to Google and guy didn't know what GCM was!. Go figure out. I am getting to know what a pain Android is.

Currently, there is a broken link in the GCM documentation, we're working on it, sorry.

Meanwhile, the answer for that is "all IP blocks listed in Google's ASN of 15169". You can use an online tool to get the ASN info (try this search)...
