Undoubtedly, the initiative born in JFK forums has the potential to be the
most detailed, extensive and technologically advanced project of its kind
ever made. The question is: by when will it be doable? Frankly speaking, I
had my doubts about its technical feasibility, given current state of the
art. Will our high standards have to be compromised? Will we be forced to
create something marginally better than its predecessor by PBS? Will it
amount to no more than a lame "Me, too" imitation?
Rest assured that any doubts have been dispelled. There is a similar, of a
grander scale project with much in common to ours: both bring history to
the present in tremendous accuracy and aesthetics, both are linked to
Massachusetts, both happened in a date that became remembered forever,
both are heartbreakingly tragic. In one, 3 people died, in the other,
1,517.

Back to our little corner...
On Wednesday, I will be receiving an early present from Santa (Spanish: El
Ni??o Jesus): a computer in equal class as those used in the colossal
production above. The software will be exactly the same.
After all, the task at hand is not as daunting as many had predicted.

Subject: Working on similar, much smaller scale project
"First, I must thank you for demonstrating that a project of that
magnitude, with so much beautiful detail is feasible. For years, a few
friends and associates have been doing the preliminary work towards a
project that has many characteristics in common with yours. People used to
tell me that is was technically impossible, now I simply send them the
link to your YouTube video and mention that I have the demo running in my
not-very-powerful laptop. Needless to say, time and technology are on our
side."
