I'm new to alt-f. And I followed the steps on the alt-f wiki but found that i can't access my NAS in windows (i can go into the admin page in web browser). It appeared in my network but just can't browse the files there (it said there is no such path), on the other hand I used the app in ipad and I can access the files... anyone knows how to solve this??

How did you try to access the share? by using the NAS name? IP?
What version of Windows are you using?

If you'll provide more detail someone might be able to help.

If you can access it from your tablet, it might be a Windows issue.
You might double check you user's rights and credentials on the NAS.

Sometimes Windows doesn't like CAPITALS in user's name or password.
It doesn't like either using special characters (accents or symbols) in share's name.

I've seen plenty of Windows 7 users with similar problems. I suggest you google it and try out some suggestions.
Here's one place to start: http://eureka.ykyuen.info/2009/09/04/windows-7-cannot-connect-to-newtork-drive/

If you can access the box files using your iPad, then Alt-F is obviously working:
-You can access the Alt-F web UI
-You have started the samba server and defined (or use the default) shares, (Services->Network->smb)

If you can't access the box files using windows, then probably you have different networks assigned to the box and windows.
Can you see windows when using the iPad?

-What are the box IP? (shown in the Status Page, under the Network section)
-Are you using DHCP or a static IP on the box? (Setup->Host)
-What is the iPad IP?
-What is the windows IP?
