No. Nowhere and it is NOT needed. These things are correctly handled by the specific choice of the script subset of UTF-8. Each item (=letter) of UTF-8 is associated to a direction and a possible modification pattern (e.g., arabic letter change their shape according to the neighboring letter both left and right, and therefore have a family of shapes rather than just one).
So there is no need for it at the document level (what would happen if I used a left-to-right character with a right-to-left specification in the metadata?)

it's good to know that you managed to mark Arabic legislationwith AN. We'll have further feedback on this once Monica, Gioele and Ashok will be back from their trip to Palestina, where more Arabic texts will be examined.
