Hi,
I have managed to kill my AirCable SMD after connecting the pin SEC to
GND (booted with SEC connected) and I believe all configuration has
been deleted. Now the device is no longer visible even not when
connecting SEC back again to make it discoverable. Unfortunaley due to
my desparate behaviour I have further deleted all BT settings for the
SMD on my computer. I can see the device is still somehow operating as
there is activity on SDA/SCL I2C when SEC is brought low but my SMD
remains invisible.
Any cunning idea how to bring it back to life?
Your help is very much appreciated.
Thanks and regards, Stefan

put sec to GND. start up, WAIT for 10 sec mind.
then take off the short

put power on again

you get FTP service ONLY. and the LED should come one and stay on
since there is no BASIC code switching it off.

Dear Juergen,

Many thanks for your quick reply. I have tried several times as you describe but the SMD remains invisible. Also LED 1 comes 4 sec up and gets back dark for 2sec. so blinking rather than stay on.
Just for me to understand, how can the SMD come up with OBEX FTP and showing its factory default name to BT when all configs got deleted?
Isn´t config.txt a prerequisite for the device to work at all?
Meanwhile I sadly tend to believe I somehow killed the HW....(will continue to investigate)

Thanks for your help.

Hi Stefan,

Oh, that sounds like it did not erase the BASIC code. Only the BASIC code
makes the LEDs blink.
When config is empty, it uses a default for name etc. FTP is the first thing it
does.
Here is another trick you can try. Since the OS starts up with FTP and then
later, it configures the new name, the SPP profiles, the blinking etc with
BASIC, you have a little time when it boots to connect via FTP, even
if the BASIC code disables it.
Do that: start an FTP connection to that particular BT address. Use Linux,
it's easier. Then power the SMD module up and you get a connection immediately.
Then you can overwrite and change the code.

See if you can get the config.txt file, I want to see the version
number of the OS.

Hope that helps

Hi Juergen,

I have tried with OBEXFTP on Ubuntu unfortunately without any success (have verified the UBUNTU command with an SMD fom 2007 and it works fine).
It looks like the SMD returns to reboot after some seconds which may also be the reason why LED 1 turns off and back on.
On PIN VBATT I measure 4.2V for a while the falls down to 3.8V at same time LED1 turns off. Also the little green LED on the SMD comes up for some ms.
Anyhow, I have saved the original config.txt at the time the SMD was shipped (pls. see attached).
Can it be the SEC pin does more than just delete the BASIC code and config.txt on the SMD?
Strange - but for the sake of moving on with my project I have ordered another two of these smart devices.
The SEC pin, I´ll never touch again :-)

Best, Stefan

do something like that: see channel number

obexftp -b 00:25:BF:F0:09:E1 -p
/media/psf/Home/wirelesscables/BlueLab412/apps/AIRmote/BC5C2/SMD_BASIC/AIRcable.bas
-B 3
