Te'Wig seeing his trusty crossbow and precious healing stone fall town the the jungle floor below him, curses to himself to be so foolishly trapped, like a common animal!  Cursed jungle!  Seeing the Cat men from before start stepping out from the treeline however makes Te'Wig cringe.  Without his bow he doesn't stand a chance against those felines.  So thinking quickly he reaches into his pocket and produces the necklace found on Slade.  Focusing his sights on the ground next to his crossbow, and his large friend Mutt, Te'Wig speaks the word "Disaperias".  The normally dull green glow from the necklace errupts in bright light blinding Te'Wig momentarily!

When he opens his eyes and they adjust he realizes it is very dark, very dark indeed.  He is on his feet again, but there is no jungle around him.  No just the smell of earth and wax, and.....MINE!  Somehow Te'Wig is back in the mines!  He would recognize that scent anywhere!  But then again, he isn't supposed to be here!  The Miners Guild forbid him from stepping foot in the mines after Ol' Frances cheated him out of his invention.

Quickly taking in a quick mental equipment check:
Pick Axe: yup
Miners Helmet with Light: yup
Goggles of Magic Detection: yup
Portable toolbox: yup

Crossbow of fire: Nope!
Healing Stone: Nope!
Friends: Nope!

It's Pitch black where you are currently, which means nobody is mining around this area that you can see.  You can however hear minors in the distance working....You are pretty sure if you can get a lay of the land you could maybe even make your way to your lab.  But first you need to get your bearings, and that means light!

Te'wig decides to look about to see if his eyes adjust to the dark and listens for any sounds friend or foe.  The lonely dark mines are a familiar place to Te'wig's eyes after all loosing every bit of light for hours at a time and only your ears and hands to feel your way out is a familiar feeling indeed.  That is why Te'wig invented the auto light helm, Francis said it was a silly idea but when Te'wig's invention netted him a handsome lab and popularity.  Francis was jealous and soon devised a way to cheat Te'wig out of his cozy social status and effectively get rid of the competition.  "Shhick.." With one stroke of the lighting wheel the Auto helm sparks to life and blazes a trail of light just bright enough for Te'wig to see far into the shadows but not so bright it disturbs the more nocturnal creatures of the dark like bats and cave beasts.  The Auto light was designed for improving Dwarven night vision not bringing a flood of daylight so the customer base was not very big at all.  Most Dwarves believed in the traditional mining candles uses by Dwarves for as long as time itself.  Te'wig scans his surroundings and breathes as quietly as a mouse that is breathing very quietly indeed.

You flip your light on and in a few moments you realize exactly where you are!  You are in ThornBottom's Shaft.  It was the original shaft of the mine, long sense abandonded as the silver had all dried up decades before.  You always thought that there might be some untapped resources down here, but now isn't the time to get side tracked....ahh but the smell of the mine brings back so many fond memories....You start to move down the shaft making sure to keep the distant voices in your head trying to track the echos through the shafts to make sure you don't accidentally run into some company...After all you were banned from the Mines last year.  Anyone catches you, and it'll be hell to pay!  Stupid Francis, you mutter quietly.

Then you see it out of the corner of your eye!  A vein of Silver!  Half buried in the rock of the wall.  You mouth starts to salivate a little bit....it's been FAR to long since you have actually held raw silver!  You head over to inspect it quietly.  It's buried in a small crevice in one of the walls.  It's really small, but where there is one, there is usually more.  You decide it wouldn't hurt to just scrap a bit off.  You know scratch that itch and move on.  So you slide out your Pick Ax and holding it high on the handle you take the spike and try and scrape out the silver ever so quietly and gently!

....And then the whole damn wall comes tumbling down!  You felt the rumble a split second before it came down and you hurled your self away.  The wall collapsed with a smash!  You managed to dodge the rubble with nothing to show but some cuts and alot of dust....but then you hear the bells.  The Collapse bells.  Men are screaming, and their voices are getting louder.  You can start to see faint lights starting to form down some of the other tunnels.

You have: 3 tunnels ahead of you in the main shaft.  You can see lights coming from all three..Although the first one (which goes to another early silver rush) seems to only have a single light growing larger.  The others, seem like there are more.  Or you can try and dig past some of the fallen rubble and head deeper into the mines via ThornBottom's tunnel.

Curse you Francis!  Te'wig mutters quietly to himself, "Guess I'll take my chances with a single light verses an angry mob.  Besides the luck-o-silver has brought me better odds against one.  Te'wig favoring the path that contains a silver vain that brought most of the early settlers in the good old days.  Te'wig recalling the layout of the mines more and more a smile starts to tug at the side of his face, kinda like in them olden days when mining was his life.  An old work'n song starts to chant in the back of his mind digging up feelings thought to be forgotten now available like it was yesterday.  A part of Te'wig stirs to life and he finds that his bruises don't hurt as much and the life of the mine fills his lungs again.  Te'wig has chosen his path and chooses to relive the mines one more time he walks with renewed confidence and purpose.

Te'Wig quickly pushes his way through some of the rubble and does his best to put the rocks back to cover his tracks.  Once on the other side Te'Wig begins making his way deeper into ThornBottom's Shaft. As you head deeper into the mines, you notice more and more cobwebs, and the dust starts to settle heavily on the floor.  This shaft doesn't spider as much as the other shafts, which strikes you as odd. Why wouldn't it....And then you come to a door.  A large Oaken door with heavy Iron bolts slide deep into the rock.  large chains with locks hold the bolts in place.  There is a tiny barred iron window that you can see through, and your eyes dance with Glee!  Silver! Silver glows from behind that door, the walls seem to be full of silver!  Yet on the door is etched something in an old language you don't quite understand:

"Plett av monsteret, holde ut"  It isn't dwarven...And your guess as to what it means is yours alone.  Hanging on the wall 20 feet from the door is a key ring with a single large silver key.  Which looks like it would fit into the locks perfectly!

[Ahh the the reality of a trap, the veil so thin. But as I am playing in character there is no substitute for role play...]
Te'wig not ready to think much about why there is a room filled with precious silver; a gorgeous amount of silver that is literally dripping from the walls of the inner chamber.  A key so conviently placed and easily accessible what could be the harm in trying the key in the lock and then what.  Well if the key works then the rest will be pure silver mining bliss and there is no shame in that.  Somebody obviously left this room here just for such an occasion.  It would be like hitting a jackpot at the local town lottery harvest giveaway the only difference is Te'wig will be walking away with more than just jeers of jubilation.  No, no, this will change a few minds about who he is and quite possibly rocket his status back up to the glory days, even better than those days because the first thing Te'wig will buy is Francis's family home; and turn it into a dung farm for the towns folk and drive that backstabbing sun of a Gog away from the community and restore a sense of pride back to.. Te'wig family name.  Te'wig reaches for the key walks ever so calmly over to the door and draws the key in line with the keyhole, inserts it and turns the key to open the lock...

As TeWig turns the key, some Runes on the door begin to glow a faint blue and fade away as the key unlatches the door.  TeWig pulls the door freely open and steps into the tunnel.  As you get closer and look the silver, your mining wit kicks in over your lust for silver and you realize, this Silver has been PLACED here!  It wasn't naturally forming in these rocks, someone mined it from somewhere else and placed it in this cave on purpose,  But who would want to do that?

At that moment you hear a half growl half chuckle... "So someone finally let me out to play!" Echos from the back of the cavern.  Looking down you can faintly make out a set of glowing red eyes!  And then it lunges at you!!!

Initiative!
TeWig: 2c
RedEyes: Js

The beast hurls at you at full speed slamming into you!  (Game mechanics: using push maneuver with a +2 from moving more than 3 squares: Strength: 6+2=8 vs TeWig Strength: 3.  The beast slams you into the silver covered floor and uses you as a spring board to leap out the door and head down the corridor.  It was giant and grey, with glowing red eyes and covered in fur.  Then you mind kicks into gear and realizes what you just did.....

...You just released a werewolf into the mines!  Your action.  He is 3 squares(6 yards) away from you with his back turned, almost like he doesn't fear you at all.  He is through the door, and you are still inside!

Te'wig thinking instinctively to charge after the werebeast with pick ax in hand and a free backside to bury it in.  The prison cage seems gigantic as the distance closes it seems to take minutes not seconds to close the gap between Te'wig and werebeast.  Te'wig just crossing the threshold of the gated entrance and down the hall pick ax cocked back and triggered firing a precision attack on the beasts back right at the place between the shoulder blades high on the rib-cage.

Te'Wig bounds to his feet and rushes at the back of the giant beast.  Throwing all his weight into the attack, Te'Wig brings his Pick Axe down with a vengeance( Attack Roll: 3).  But there was a blur of motion and in a split second the werewolf side stepped, spun and struck out with it's claws with a vicious blow to the head!  (Attack Roll: 3) The claws slam into Te'Wigs helmet knocking it from his head and gashing deep into his skull (Damage 23, 3 wounds and Shaken).  The light from the helmet vanishes and only the eerie blue glow of the eyes of the beast remain.

"You freed me from that prison of over 50 years, for that I owe you, It is not yet the full moon so I'm not a monster yet....For this I will spare your life, my vengeance is left for those who were once my friends, who turned their back on me.  Your life, pays the debt between us brother, don't oppose me again!"

And then as quick as he came he is gone!

Your head is spinning, and you can feel trickles of blood running down your face.....soon however your head snaps back to reality....you can hear the minors making their way through the rubble.  It's distant but they will be here soon.  It's pitch black and you can't seem to locate your helmet.  And when you try to move you feel a little dizzy.  Not to mention if the Dwarves catch you down here, the Minors Guild is sure to have your head, especially when they find out that you released a friggin werewolf!

Te'wig quickly scans the lay out of this prison and writes down the inscription gathers any items that seem important.  Silver, personal property of the were wolf (fur, claws, etc.)  Te'wig plans to find a quick way back to his work shop and work on a new item for his collection.

Te'Wig gathers up what he can find (which isn't much) and uses the necklace to teleport one more time.  This time he ends up in a more familiar location, This is a less traveled area of the mine near Te'Wig's secret entrance to his home.  As he travels back to his home he finds his missing items (Crossbow and healing stone) at the base of the secret entrance.  My friends must have come back here! Te'Wig though to himself, and quickly picked up the healing stone and went to work on himself.  A few minutes later the pain and dizziness was gone and Te'Wig was back in shape (although a bit tired).  Coming up into his lab he realizes that he has nothing more than the inscription of the door.  Nothing else.  No Fur, no claws, but upon thinking on it, it is a magical beast, and perhaps it doesn't shed like a normal creature...

No matter.  Now to focus on the inscription.  You spend some time researching with your limited library, but you manly focus on hardware, not curses and such.  You need to find yourself an experienced Wizard to help you figure this out....Kirin is too young, but his Master!  He might have the answers or at least a library on information.  Deciding to keep a low profile, just in case someone figures out you released the beast, it would be best not to involve your friends just yet.

So leaving in the middle of the night you make your way to Turin's home.  You have only been there once, bringing him something years ago, Even before Kirin was an apprentice.  It's a bit of rusty knowledge but you are confident you know your way.  Soon you find yourself at the entrance of the cave.  This is the place you tell yourself.  However when you enter you don't see Turin's home, you find the home of Glyphon.  The spirit you were trying to help when you ran into those pesky Cat people!  He is in a different cave, and there is no circle.  He turns to you and the words he speaks don't come from any lips as he doesn't have any.  The words simply echo in your mind.

"Ahh the young Dwarf has found his way!  Your friends are not here, but I'm certain that is not why you came. You and your friends helped me in a time of need, so I will return the favor, what do you ask?"

Master Glyphon I am at a cross roads, a Werewolf who thinks himself great and mighty indeed was held until recently in a special prison made up of silver imbued walls and bound with an inscription.  I wish to take responsibility for his escape.  He is not ready to be loose upon the open lands.  As I have taken on this burden I feel it is my duty to leash the beast before he ruins the innocence of the people of these lands.  Will you help me Master Glyphon, teach me what I need to know to bind him so I can tame the beast and allow the animal nature to go towards a more civic duty helping the innocent instead of hurting these peoples.

His voice seems to echo in your head vs actually speaking... His words clear yet faint.

"Your path is not with the child, but that of the father, head to the Razorback mountains, find the cave, and you will find the father.  It is important however that you do not kill the beast, for he is the only one that can cure the child! In doing this, you might find the answers that you seek"

Te'wig mind shifts into overdrive!  If the son was troublesome enough to need such carefully constructed bindings to hold him I can only imagine how tough it would be to hold the father let alone catch him.  "Eh.. what is a long lived life if you don't risk it every now and then?" thinks Te'wig to himself halfheartedly.  A trip back to the lab will give him some time to figure out how to tackle this new quest, dig out some maps of the area, and convince himself this will be worth the trouble.  Te'wig shifts his supplies to a more comfortable position on his back, turns to leave and pauses.  "Anything else I should know about before I go?"
