Eric,

I've made good progress with our lawyers at Mozilla, and that should
cover my (mostly in person at Activity Streams meetings)
contributions.

Just so I get this right, could someone point me toward the official
signatory process? (I vaguely remember something in email about
emailing something or uploading to github)

I didn't find anything about contributor/signing process on the
website, and the closest I found was this on the wiki:

http://wiki.activitystrea.ms/Contributors

I've added myself/Mozilla along with status Pending (likely)

That page says "likely use Agree2.com" but I don't remember anyone
mentioning that here recently.

Whoever is driving the OWFa contributor agreements, could you briefly
describe/list the OWFa contributors agreement process that the
Activity Streams group is using?

Thanks!

The agreements collected so far are uploaded to the repo along with the
spec document itself:
https://github.com/activitystreams/json-activity/tree/master/agreements

The process (such that it is) is described in the README file in that
directory.

Thanks Martin.

I've updated http://wiki.activitystrea.ms/Contributors accordingly.

Working on getting the signed agreement now. Thanks,

Awesome work Tantek and Zach!

Getting Google (Will Norris) and Microsoft (Rob Dolin) should just
about wrap this process up.

Thanks guys,

Hi Guys
I decided to check back with the legal team on how vmware can sign the OWFa or at least CLA for my participation in this group.

The stalling in our involvement had been due to the fact that most of my contributions have been done under previous employers
Does anyone know how we can sign and make it clear of the dates in effect ? The legal team wants to ensure vmware is not signing in place of another institution
Many thanks
Monica

(standard IANAL disclaimers in place...)

I would suspect that the dates don't really matter.  VMWare signing would basically mean that they are making a grant of whatever patents or copyrights they hold that are covered by the specification.  As for copyrights, that's probably nothing, since your contributions to the text of the spec predate VMWare.  But maybe they have patents, and that's mainly what it would cover.

Ideally, MySpace and Facebook would each also submit an OWFa that covers the work you did while employed by each.

On that note, I'm also very close to having Google sign as well (I know, how many times have I said that :( ... but I've made good progress just in the last couple of days).  As a point of interest, this last Saturday May 12 was the one year anniversary of when we declared the spec final. :)
