The Global Technology Training Supervisor will receive a generous total compensation package. Bonuses are awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance. We are currently seeking a Global Technology Training Supervisor for our Global Services Office (GSO) in Los Angeles. This office hosts the technology, finance, and business development professionals who support our global operations.
The Global Technology Training Supervisor is responsible for leading his/her team to meet its goals of analyzing applications and developing and implementing effective technology application training programs for attorneys, paralegals and staff in the firm's global offices. He or she creates and provides a variety of software training services to the employees of Latham & Watkins including but not limited to the development of end-user training. The Supervisor identifies training needs of Latham employees via training requests, new technology, analysis, and help desk reports.
As the Global Technology Training Supervisor, you will apply your management and leadership expertise to accomplish these and other critical functions:
Ensure goals and objectives of the team are met. Lead team toward accurate and timely completion of assignments and responses to inquiries. Ensure that all tasks and duties are completed within the firm's set guidelines and policies.
Act as a Project Lead regarding technology training at the Firm and lead training and development initiatives.
Create training programs for new or updated software rollouts to meet end-users' needs. Develop training programs to enhance users' ability to utilize technology resources and provide a competitive advantage for the Firm.
Develop and/or coordinate teaching aids such as outlines, handouts, instructions, Tip Sheets, online learning, Tips of the Week and other reference materials with an emphasis on the needs of each practice group.
Act independently to determine when training deficiencies require new training programs. Identify technology skill gaps of end-users firm-wide; make recommendations to Technology Trainers, Supervisors and Managers; develop programs to meet the training needs and create methods for proper instruction.
Keep abreast of new technologies; review appropriate periodicals and journals; contribute to the identification and creation process of new learning opportunities outside the classroom, such as using multi-media devices, online courses, webinars, etc.
Provide training to the practice office training staff with regard to the software rollouts. Design "train-the-trainer" sessions to promote learning.
Provide assistance and training to end-users for firm-approved applications using a variety of different methods. Software includes: Microsoft Office, Outlook, iManage, with Matter Centricity, Litera ChangePro, Carpe Diem, InterAction, Career Development Center (LMS), SharePoint, DocXTools, remote computing (VPN, RDS), Cisco phone software, and other programs.
Critically analyze and/or coordinate the analysis of the software applications from a user’s perspective prior to the development of the training materials.
You will be expected to apply your organizational skills, communication skills and attention to detail to meet multiple deadlines while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. You must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field. An ideal candidate should have four (4) years of experience writing instructional design and documentation for technology training, and a minimum three (3) years' experience supporting technology through end-user training initiatives, preferably in a professional services organization. Relevant Project Management and Supervisor experience is also required.
