Description of: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/User:Krinkle/Stable_interface_policy/Changes
Was not sure whether it should be an RFC, but decided to make it an RFC.
Moved to Last Call on July 8th.
No concerns remain after the Last Call period
Support for IE 8 will be maintained for the upcoming 1.35 release
Code needed for IE 8 support can be dropped from master (and Wikimedia sites) after 1.35 has been branched in July.
TechCom will regularly send an email about development policies and guidelines to wikitech-l, for the benefit of new contributors
Timo has agreed to send the first mail soon.
WIP draft: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Technical_Committee/Architecture_Forum
Forum will be distinct from the “architecture forum”, which has a scope limited to decision making about system architecture
Name of the new forum is unclear. “Technical Forum” may be used as a working title.
Several members are in favor of using wikitech-l as the venue for cross-cutting technical discussion and decision making. Discussion ongoing.
