On Monday, ~2023.3.27, Tlon will release OTA (over-the-air) updates for Groups and Talk. This release increases the loading speed of both apps by ~150%, adds a Landscape app launcher within Leap, fixes a host of UX and display issues, and declares Kelvin compatibility with 414.
- Adds a Landscape app launcher and windowing system for Landscape apps to Talk and Groups.
- Adds loading placeholders for Notebook indexes.
- Adds additional `mop` functions for better Chat message querying.
- Adds anonymized, opt-in daily app-open telemetry via `%vita`.
- Adds Kelvin compatibility with 414.
- Improves the load time of Talk and Groups apps (~200% faster in some cases).
- Improves typographic and spatial consistency of all sidebar and header elements.
- Improves the appearance of references and chat message spacing.
- Improves the detection and handling of disconnects.
- Improves the appearance of the Inter system font on Windows and ensures proper ligature support.
- Fixes an issue in Chat where a 404ing image would cause the entire log to flicker.
- Fixes an issue where selecting an emoji reaction in Chat with a mouse was impossible.
- Fixes an issue in Galleries where deleting or editing an item was impossible without entering Row view.
- Fixes an issue in Galleries where adding a comment to an item would erroneously scroll the list of comments.
- Fixes an issue where joining a group on mobile would not route you to the group.
- Fixes an issue where mentioning another ship in a DM would alert that the mentioned ship is not in the message.
- Fixes an issue where adding a new channel with a purely numeric name would fail.
- Fixes an issue where Twitter embeds would not render in Safari.
- Fixes an issue where the "Recent" sort of groups in the sidebar would fail to update.
- Fixes an issue where opening an image in Chat with the content lightbox would open only the last item in a series of attached images.
- Fixes an issue where uploading an image attachment while quote-replying in Chat would insert the image above the quoted message.
- Fixes display issues with the "?" wayfinding dialog on mobile.
- Fixes an issue where dismissing the "?" wayfinding button would not persist.
- Fixes an issue where Markdown code blocks in Notebooks would crash the interface and fail to open the note.
- Fixes an issue where Groups would direct all mobile users to "Find Groups" instead of the list of groups they're in.
- Fixes an issue where mobile users in no groups could see an empty group list or a blank notifications list.
- Fixes an issue where mobile users navigating to a group would get dropped into the most recent channel rather than the channel list.
- Fixes an issue on mobile where leaving a group or rejecting an invitation would result in a white screen.
- Fixes an issue where uploading an image to a Gallery would cause the link to persist in the input block.
