Loading GEO bigwig file

Hello,

I'd like to load a GEO bigWig (bw) file to the genome browser via the
add custom track field.

The URL is :
ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/samples/GSM1399nnn/GSM1399014/suppl/GSM1399014_NTKO_K27me3_tagDensity1.bw

I have entered the following track line into the appropriate field on
upload custom track :


track type=bigWig
bigDataUrl=ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/samples/GSM1399nnn/GSM1399014/suppl/GSM1399014_NTKO_K27me3_tagDensity1.bw

The track appears to upload and open in the Genome browser but there is
no quantitative data, only a message that this is "not a chromosome id
r-tree index file".
I am not sure what this problem is of if there is a better way to do
this.

Dear David,

Thank you for your question about the UCSC Genome Browser. It appears the bigWig file is not in proper bigWig format as there are some unrecognized numbers at the beginning and the end of the file. You should contact the submitter to ask how the file was generated and to verify if the correct file was submitted to the NCBI website. The GEO NCBI website has the submitters information here.
