My main process calls a subprocess which I want to update by adding additional control flow and tasks. The subprocess is called after the last manual task in the main process, so live production instances are either complete, or have not reached the subprocess task yet.

When I go live with the new project version with the updated subprocess, can I safely choose the option to have uncompleted (production version) processes use the NEW version? Or has the control flow of the old subprocess version been already baked into the state of existing uncompleted main processes (even though it has not been invoked there yet)?

Hi Tom,

Based on this sentence "The subprocess is called after the last manual task in the main process, so live production instances are either complete, or have not reached the subprocess task yet.", you should be able to apply your new project version on old instances, if of course you haven't made any other modifications to your process design, except from the one you've mentionned. The only problem you could have would be if you had some instances currently pending on a task within the subprocess you've updated. But if not, you can go ahead with applying new version to all instances.
