No Voice for Select Deselect

Hello NVDA Users,

I am totally confused. There are a few different steps provided in the IO group for selecting and or deselectingt files to delete in file explorer.

Also, on my win11 computer (NVDA 2024) if pressing control plus spacebar, no voice says select or deselect.

I read 'select deselect' is built-in but my experience indicates otherwise.

Where do I go from here to rectify this problem?

I don't want to overlook this even if it is obvious, but are you holding
control when you press space? If so, try another screen-reader to see
if the announcement is spoken.

There is no special voice for the announcement. It uses the same voice
NVDA uses in general.
