Actually movement is articulated now. you wil hear between x and y, where x and y are the icons on the task bar. They fixed this maybe 1-2 years ago.

I just checked and the position change is announced. It is a Microsoft feature, not an NVDA feature. The same speech occurs when moving this way with JAWS. It is very over verbose. We are told something like, x moved between y and z. Not just something like moved. We are not given useful information, such as the number of an item on the task bar. One of the main points for an item having a certain position on the task bar is so that we may assign the number we want to use to run or open the item. That information isn't given so we might hear, NVDA, moved between Outlook and Edge. So we have to go to the beginning of the items and move, counting until we get to the item. Doesn't the accessibility team vet what they do with blind users to see if they are providing useful information or not?
