I had thought of asking this years ago but now it has become really urgent. Is there a way to save a link to a website and if so where and how? The problem is when I search Google for the name of the place it keeps giving me the wrong thing. I need to fill out forms and that is impossible to do so after each call since I am not able to get the site each time I am on call. Today I have not succeeded getting on and finding it.
Thanks so much.
Hi,
I think most of the browsers have a bookmark function. I press ctrl+ D and pick one of the folders I have created to put them in. I will normally give it my own name instead of what is automatically put in. I will also group them by the first word, e.g., financial as the first word for banking sites, investments.
So, I go to my bookmarks folder with alt + f, b and select the folder and then hit the letter f and I am taken to the financial section. It is more-or-less a way to alphabetize the bookmarks.
Best
George

Hi Betsy,
I completely understand the frustration of trying to find the same page repeatedly, especially when you are on a call. There are two primary ways you can handle this: using the Bookmarks feature in your browser or copying the URL (the web address) into a Notepad file on your computer.
Personally, I would recommend using the Bookmarks method, as it allows you to open the site directly from your browser without needing to open a separate file.
Here are the step-by-step instructions for both methods, designed to be screen reader friendly:
Method 1: Saving a Bookmark (Recommended)
This method saves the site directly into your browser's "Favorites" or "Bookmarks" list.
1. While on the website you want to save, press CTRL + D.
2. NVDA will announce a dialog box. The focus will be on the name of the bookmark; you can leave it as is or type a name you recognize.
3. Press Tab until you reach the Done or OK button and press Enter.
4. To find this link later, press ALT + B (in Edge) or CTRL + Shift + O (in Chrome) to open your bookmarks, or simply start typing the name of the site in the address bar, and your browser will suggest the bookmarked link.
Method 2: Copying the URL to Notepad
This method creates a permanent text record of the link on your computer.
1. When the website is open, press ALT + D. This moves your focus to the Address Bar and automatically selects the entire URL.
2. Press CTRL + C to copy the address to your clipboard.
3. Press the Windows Key, type Notepad, and press Enter.
4. Once Notepad opens, press CTRL + V to paste the link into the document.
5. Press CTRL + S to save the file. Give it a name you will remember (like "Work Forms") and press Enter.
6. You can now open this Notepad file anytime, copy the link, and paste it back into your browser.
I hope these steps help make your workflow a bit smoother! Please let me know if you need further clarification on any of these steps.
Warm regards,
Mister Kayne
