I wanted to share a "Sprint Impact Report" I recently published regarding the open source sprints with my meetup group NYC WiMLDS (Women in Machine Learning & Data Science) and the scikit-learn library.

There is also an article "Highlights from the 2018 NYC WiMLDS Scikit-Learn Sprint" for reference which is more about the event planning and the sprint day.

My hope is that other projects will similarly publish an "impact report" for open source sprints so it is available to the public, both for informational purposes and tracking metrics.

This is fantastic! Any chance that we can create a cookiecutter template for this. It would be really helpful. Passing along to some PSF folks too.

Hi Carol,

Yes, in fact I submitted a proposal to PyCon, entitled:  "Taking the Open Source Sprint to the Next Level" to provide a more detailed background and formal process, lessons learned, etc.  If it doesn't work out for PyCon, I will set it up for another conference.  There is lots to share.

This is so cool Reshama! I hope you'll also have some "lessons learned" to share at the open spaces?

Love this, Reshama! It would be awesome to have a template/brief "how to" on steps to take to assess sprints like this.

Best,
Gina
