First question is basically an equation formation. You just need to form the equation, on first line it will be formed as the product of two terms, then you break the factors and form a quadratic equation.
In Q3 you remember that the graph of this quadratic eqn is a parabola. Now you know the x-coord. of vertex , putting x-coord you get y-coord also.Similarly you get axis of symmetry. No need of using Sridharacharya etc.
