i did not understand how to solve the second question related to deb and ananya buying toys..do explain

let, Deb had x toys at beginning.

Then Ananya had (20-x) toys at beginning,

After loosing toys, now Deb has (x-3) and Ananya has (20-x-4) or (16-x)

product =42

so (x-3)(16-x)=42
