What is difference between add and store?

How saying " Add Total bill amount in variable sum" is different from saying " Store Total bill amount in variable sum"?

"Add Total bill amount in variable sum" - In this statement you're adding the value every time in the variable sum

"Store Total bill amount in variable sum" - In this statement you're just storing the value in the variable sum not performing any kind of addition as per the algorithm requirement
