running on ptyhon 3.8

Hello,

I'm looking to deal with some technical debt porting nose to nose2. I
know it is lng overdue but nose has been working perfectly for years and
years for us (the apache cloudstack project). I cloned and ran tests and
the following:

build succeeded, 3 warnings.

The HTML pages are in ../.tox/docs/tmp/html.

I started looking at the website/github and saw that this project has
not seen any merges for over 6 months. Is this an active effort? If it
is, we have a custom plugin ot deal with our API. Are there any porting
guidelines. I f we need to start anew, are there alternatives that are
more active. Our implementation is an object-/web based API, which now
takes test configuration from the commandline and has internal
configuration defining the test target system.

If we need to re-write big time, i'm not biased to any language.

Hi Daan,

nose2 is still maintained, but I believe I'm the only maintainer left.

I've been on a long hiatus from the project, but I do intend to get back to it.

However!

If you are looking at porting from nose to nose2, I would extremely strongly urge you to look into pytest as an alternative.

pytest has a much bigger community of maintainers and is the de-facto standard for python testing at this point.

nose2 is primarily maintained for its legacy/existing users -- e.g. folks with large testsuites already written with it.
