Email Issue

Hello - I am a 20+ year SeaMonkey user and am having an email problem that has me stumped. I am using Mac OS 15.7.3 and SeaMonkey 2.53.23. I have not recently upgraded and have not changed any preferences for years. My inbox setup looks like this screenshot below.

When I select a new email in the Inbox it opens fine and I can delete it or even drag it to the 2025-2026 folder below. The new issue is if I close or quit Seamonkey the email is missing from the inbox when I return and the only way I can retrieve it is to go to my Webmail folder and send it to myself. The only work around I can come up with is to move all new emails I want to store to my 2025-2026 folder before closing SeaMonkey.

Please help!! I can't stand the thought of having to switch to Mac Mail after all these years with SeaMonkey

One thing occurs to me that could cause this, coupled with the message
being marked as read.

What do you have set in View->Messages (at least in the top part of that
submenu)? Is it, by chance, "Unread"? If so, change it to All.
