Hi everyone,
I am using MATLAB to couple CONTAM results.

I was trying to use MATLAB code to control simulation results, including airflow rates, pressure differences for each path, and contaminant concentration levels in each zone. I found out they can be systematically obtained from exported results in CONTAM.

However, can those results be obtained without opening CONTAM using MATLAB coding? Because I have hundreds of simulations to run and that is going to save so much time.
Many thanks for your help.

Yao,
There are multiple methods that can be used to obtain simulation results:
1. Use simread
    - simread.exe is located alongside ContamW, e.g., C:\Program Files (x86)\NIST\CONTAM 3.4.0.4\
    - see previous post for more info: https://groups.google.com/a/list.nist.gov/g/contam/c/K9JprJJfGiQ/m/xHmtkrffAwAJ?hl=en
2. Use report controls : See Working with Controls in the CONTAM User Guide
3. You can also have CONTAM generate a sqlite file.

Thank you, William,
Now I can get results using Simread.
I have another question about CONTAM. Is there any way to modify an air flow path (eg. change one fan to another) in CONTAM without opening it? Many thanks.

Regards
Yao

The CONTAM PRJ file generated by ContamW is a text file the contents of which are documented in an Appendix of the User Guide. One can modify the PRJ using a text editor but with caution. Make sure you work with a copy in the event that something goes wrong. There is also a tool to help you generate parametric sets of PRJs available on the NIST Multizone Modeling website here: https://www.nist.gov/el/energy-and-environment-division-73200/nist-multizone-modeling/contam-parametric-analysis.

You can reverse engineer modifications of a PRJ file by making the desired changes in ContamW and comparing the changed file with the original using a diff tool like WinMerge.
