Hi,
is it possible to get step by step instructions on how to setup stateful provisioning using rhel 6.x. i was  trying to do it without success for the last 5 weeks. every time the system gives some new messages. my nodes are booting through pxe and i can see the node cpu's in ganglia.

Request experts help on this. Thanks in advance

best regards

Hi,

There isn't any ... good Stateful docs anywhere I know of. The
Documentation page (
http://warewulf.lbl.gov/trac/wiki/Recipes/StatefulProvisioning ) has
decent info. The basics are:

1) Install Kernel and Grub packages into VNFS
2) Be sure you're configuring BOOTLOADER, DISKPARTITION,
DISKFORMAT, and FILESYSTEMS
3) Have the node PXE boot. Once it has provisioned, set bootlocal to 1:
# wwsh provision set --bootlocal=1 [node]
4) Reboot node. Still with PXE as the first boot device. The PXE
config file causes it to boot off hard drive instead of image if
bootlocal is set. So, it "should" be booting of the HDD.

That should pretty much be it.
