Chaingin triggers with different timing

Is it possible to chain triggers with opposite timing?  Will such a chain ever trip causing an action to be taken?

From the mcontrol timing field:

A chain of triggers that don’t all have the same
timing value will never fire (unless consecutive in-
structions match the appropriate triggers).
