Many of us that support Chrome OS and others I'm sure have relied on the cros-omahaproxy site (https://cros-omahaproxy.appspot.com/)  to see what the current versions are for each device on the stable, beta, and dev channels.
For the past week or so it seems to be throwing the error 'Failed to load: error 500', see below:

I'm just reaching out in hopes of the right team seeing this and taking notice, we'd very much appreciate getting this site back up if at all possible, it's a very helpful resource.

We also use the cros-updates-serving site too (https://cros-updates-serving.appspot.com/) too and have been told to use it instead but it isn't always 100% accurate at times so a second source is often needed.

I can't imagine what it's like trying to keep up with all the devices and all the channels, especially when rolling out updates so I know it's no easy task, we appreciate all the effort that goes into this.

Thanx in advance,
~DennyL

https://cros.tech/ is another pretty one, but it probably uses a similar API on the backend and might not expose its own API for easy automation.

Mike, the https://cros-updates-serving.appspot.com/ is certainly easier to read, but as DennyL noted, it is not always 100% accurate.

Typically a user reports that they are behind on updates and we have to figure out why. It could be that the device SHOULD still be running an older version because of bugs. Or, they are on a managed device. Or, they do not have a reliable internet connection, or they are using a BIOS-modified device, or ???

We have found that we can cross-check with https://cros-omahaproxy.appspot.com/ and that site has proven to be much more reliable and accurate indication of what ChromeOS version SHOULD be running.

There is an "About" link on that page. When clicked, it reports, "This application is supported by the Chromium-OS team, as a tool to track current releases and release history."

Our hope is that someone on that team could be contacted so that the site would get fixed.

Thanks

FYI:
A chromium dev has offered to look into finding an owner and getting this resolved:
