Hello Torsha,
"can you clarify when you say ', the browser fails not recognize USB and HID Devices', "
What I mean is that the Chrome browser is not detecting the USB or the HID Device. I think the images I posted are too small to show that:
Chrome > Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Additional permissions > USB Devices > STATUS: No USB devices found
Chrome > Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Additional permissions > HID Devices > STATUS: No HID devices found
(1) are there multiple USB devices connected that are not being recognised:
I am unsure. Let me clarify that the two items connected to the Chromebook via a wire are the USB-wired mouse and the SUB-C to Ethernet adapter.
I answer I am unsure, because regarding the Ethernet adapter I have observed Device log entries like the ones below everytime I connect the adapter to the Chromebook:
USB

[2023/06/21 12:43:21.147842] usb_device_linux.cc:102 Permission broker failed to open the device: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Failed: permission_broker/permission_denied:Permission to open '/dev/bus/usb/001/001' denied
The sentence "Permission broker failed to open the device" in the previous log entry is what makes me unsure of whether the adapter is properly recognized by the system. HOWEVER, the adapter seems to work with the exception that I experience a lot of connectivity problems related to Android Apps. Just yesterday I published a post to get you guys' feedback: https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-os-discuss/c/steT61qP6_E
(2) Does the USB mouse functionality work or did this mouse not work from the beginning (i.e. either u dont see the cursor or the cursor doesnt move) irrespective of the OS update? or was it working earlier and stopped working now.
The first day the mouse malfunctioned, is the day that a second HID device log entry appeared in Device log. I had left the Chromebook unattended for a few hours, and when I got back to it, the mouse was unresponsive. This is what motivated me to look into the log. This happened at around 5PM that day, and these were mouse related log entries that were generated while I was away from the Chromebook:

So I disconnected the mouse, and then reconnected it. At first it appeared to work, but soon after it stopped working. These log entries were generated from those actions:

Again, I disconnected the mouse and I reconnected it, and then it worked fine. These were the log entries generated from those actions:

There was another time when the mouse became unresponsive a few days ago, but other than that the mouse works fine.
Below I include the images that show Chrome setting is not recognizing USB or HID devices:
What do you think is happening?
THANX
