There is an experimental SideBar API.Follow the instructions to get it working.Note that you will not be able to upload your extension to the gallery so long as this API is experimental and that users will have to enable some flag (about:flags in Dev Chrome 9+ or use the --enable-experimental-extension-apis within earlier versions).☆PhistucK
