Password policy requirements

Before I go modifying templates/fragments I want to make sure it is not a simple setting I am missing.

When a user goes to change their password I want to describe exactly what they need to have as a strong password:


two number, two special characters, two uppercase characters, etc….


Not sure where to set this other than modifying the password reset template.

Am I on the right track?

Check to see if there is something in the messages, https://github.com/apereo/cas/blob/7.1.x/support/cas-server-support-thymeleaf/src/main/resources/messages.properties

Your custom messages / overrides go in custom_messages.properties https://apereo.github.io/cas/7.1.x/ux/User-Interface-Customization-Localization.html#configuration

If there is nothing to replace nor modify, you will have to modify the page. see https://fawnoos.com/2022/07/22/cas66-ui-themes/
