Life and felicity.
Your tardy advent, Cesar Nostradame my son, me to
make put my long time by continual vigils nocturnal
to refer by script you to leave memoir, after the
corporeal extinction of your progenitor to the
common profit of the humans, of which this the
Divine essence by Astronomic revolutions me to you
gave cognizance. And since that it has pleased to
God immortal that you did not come in natural light
of this terrene shore, & not want to say your years
which not are still accompanied, but your months
Martial incapable to receive inside your bile
understanding that which I will be constraining
after my days to define: seeing that it not is
possible to leave by script, that which will be by
the injury of time obliterated: because the word
hereditary of the occult prediction will be in my
stomach closed up: considering also the adventures
of the human definitely to be uncertain, & that the
all is controlled & governed by the puissance of
God inestimable, us inspiring not by bacchante
fury, nor by lymphatic movement, but by astronomic
assertions. Only by the will of God to divine
affluent presaging and in spirit of prophecy
particularly: How much that of long time by
numerous times I've predicted long time before that
which since has advent, & in particularly regions
attributing the all to be made by the virtue &
inspiration divine & other felicities & sinister
adventures of accelerated promptitude pronounced
that since have advent by the climates of the world
which wanted to silence & to leave over for cause
of the injury, & not so much only of the time
present, but also of the more great part of the
future, to put by script because that the reigns,
sects, & religions will make changes so opposite,
seeing from the respect of the present
diametrically, that if I would come to refer that
which in the to advent will be those of reign, sect
religion, & faith will be found so bad according to
their fantasies auricular, that they will come to
damn that which by the centuries to advent we will
know to be seen & apperceived. Considering also the
sentence of the true Savior Not you thing sacred to
give to dogs nor throw pearls before pigs that not
they trample them underfoot and they having turned
to disrupt you. That to have been the cause to make
retire my language from the populace, & the pen
from the paper, then me to swine wanted to extend
declaring for the common adventing by obstructed &
perplexed sentences the causes future, even the
most urgent, & those that I've apperceived, some

good genius, this heat & puissant vaticinator is

our natural cognizance & inclination of ingenuity,
to cognize the secrets obscure of God the Creator.
Because not to be ours to know the time neither the
moment, etc. How much which also of the present
could to advent & to be the personage, which God
the creator would want to reveal by imaginative
impressions some secrets of the advent, according
to the astrology judicial like from to pass which
certain puissance & voluntary faculty had come by
them, like flame of fire appeared, those him
inspiring we had come to judge the divine & human
inspirations. Because the works divine, which
totally are absolute God the will come to achieve:
the means of which is in the midst of the Angels:
the third the bad: But my son I to you speak here a
little too obtrusively: but as for the occult
vaticinations that we come to receive by the subtle
spirit of fire, which sometimes by the
understanding agitated, contemplating the more high
of the stars, as to be vigilant, even those in
pronunciations, standing surprised writings
pronouncing without constraint less attained of
unashamed loquacity but which all proceeds from the
puissance divine of the great God eternal, from
whom all goodness proceed. Still, my son, that I've
inserted the name of prophet, i do not seek to
attribute title of such high sublimity for the time
present: because which the Prophet as called today,
was formerly called the seer: because the Prophet
properly my son, is the one who sees things far
away from the cognizance natural of every creature.
And case adventing which the Prophet by means of
the perfect light of the Prophecy him to appear
manifestly of the things divine, as humans, that
this not he can do, to view these the effects of
the future prediction extending far. because the
secrets of God incomprehensible, & the virtue
effector contingent of long extension of the
cognizance natural, taking their more nearby origin
from the liberal arbiter, made to appear the causes
which of selves even not can acquire this notice
for to be cognized, not by the human augurs, not by
other cognizance of virtue occult: comprehending
under the concavity of the sky even of the made
present for all eternity, which comes in his
embrace all the time. But by means of some
indivisible eternity by, comitial agitation
Herculean, the causes by the caelestial movement
are cognized. I never say never, my son, to the end
that well the hearing, which the cognizance of this
matter not can be able to still imprint in your
feeble brain, that the causes future very far away
not will be to the cognizance of the creature
reasonable: if are notwithstanding for the good the
creature of the soul intellectual of the things
present far away not him are from all not too
occult, nor too reserved: but the perfect of the
causes notice not can be able to acquire without
this divine inspiration: seeing that all
inspiration prophetic receives taking its principal
element moving of God the creator, then of the hour
& of nature. By which standing the causes
indifferent indifferently produced, & not produced,
the presage part advent, where has been predicted.
Because the understanding created intellectually
not can see occultly, except by the voice made to
the limb by means of the exiguous flame, in which
part the causes future they will come to be
inclined. And also my son, I you supplicated which
ever you not would want to employ your
understanding to such dreams & vanities which dries
the bodies & put to perdition the soul, giving
trouble to the feeble senses: even the vanity of
the more than execrable magic reproved formerly by
the sacred scriptures, & by the divine cannons of
the chief of which is excepted the judgment of the
Astrology judicial: by which, & by means of
inspiration & revelation divine by continual
deductions, we have our prophecies redacted by
script. And how much that this occult Philosophy
not could be reproved, not've one which wanted to
present their effronted persuasions, how much that
numerous volumes which have been hidden by long
centuries to me have been manifested. But doubting
that which would advent, in have made after the
lecture present to Vulcan, which nevertheless that
it the had come to devour, the flame licking the
air rendering one clarity strange, more clear than
natural flame, like light of fire of baptism
fulgurating, illuminating subtly the house: like if
she was to be in sudden conflagration. By which to
the end that in the future not would be abused,
scrutinizing the perfect transformation as much
selene as solar-only, & underground metals
incorruptible, & to the waves, occult, the have in
cinders converted. But as for the judgement which
will come to achieve, by means of the judgement
caelestial, that you seek I to manifest: by which
to have cognizance of the things future, rejecting
far the fantastic imaginations which will advent,

inspiration supernatural: according to the
caelestial figures the places, & one part of the
time of propriety occult by virtuous puissance, &
faculty divine in presence of which the three times
are comprehending by eternity, revolution holding
to the cause past, present & future: because all
things exist naked and open, etc. By which my son,
you can facilely, notwithstanding your tender brain
to comprehend that the things which must to advent,
self can to prophesy by the nocturnal & caelestial
lights, which are natural, & by the spirit of
prophecy: not that I me would want to attribute
nomination nor effect prophetic, but by revealed
inspiration, like men mortal far away not less of
the sense to Heaven, than the feet in the earth.
Are able not to err, fail, deceive, myself to sin
more great than any of this world, subject to all
human afflictions. But standing surprised by times
the week lymphatically, & by long calculation,
rendering the studies nocturnal of sulfur odor,
I've composed books of prophecies containing each
one a hundred quatrains astronomic of prophecies,
that which I've one little wanted to join obscurely
& are perpetual vaticinations, for from here to the
year 3797. Which possibly will make to retire the
front to some ones, in seeing long extension, & by
under all the concavity of the Moon will make lieu
& intelligence: & this understanding universally by
all the earth the causes my son, that if you to
live the age natural & human, you will see diverse
your climate, to proper Sky of your nativity, the
future adventures previewed. How much that the sole
God eternal would be the one only who cognizes the
eternity of his light, proceeding from him the
same, & I speak frankly that to those to whom his
magnitude immense, which is without measure &
incomprehensible, to want for long inspiration,
melancholic to reveal, that by means of this one
occult cause manifested divinely, principally from
two causes principal, which are comprehended to the
understanding of the one inspired who prophesies,
the one is who comes to infuse, clarifying the
light supernatural, to this personage who predicts
by the doctrine of the stars, & prophesies by
inspired revelation, which is one certain
participation of the divine eternity, by means of
the Prophet come to judge of this which his divine
spirit him to give by the means of God the creator,
& by one natural instigation, this is to know what
this predicts, is true, & has taken its origin &
ethereally: & such light & flame exiguous is of all
efficacy, & of such altitude not less than the
natural clarity, & natural light rend the
Philosophies so assured, that by means of the
principles of the premier cause have attained to
more profound abysms of the more high doctrines,
But to this end my son that I not wonder too
profoundly for the capacity future of your sense, &
also which I find that the letters will do so great
& incomparable jactation, that I find the world
before the universal conflagration to advent so
much of deluges & so high inundations, that there
not will be much soil which not will be covered of
water, & will be by so long time, that outside to
put enographies & topographies that the all not
will be perished, also in advance & after such
inundations, in numerous countries the rains will
be so exiguous, & will fall from the sky so great
abundance of fire & of stones candent, that there
not will remain anything which not will be
consumed: & this will advent in brief, & in advance
of the last conflagration: Because still, that the
planet of Mars achieves his century & to the end of
his previous period, if the will take it: but are
assembled the ones in Aquarius numerous years, the
others in Cancer by more long & continuous. And now
that we are conducted by the Moon, by means of the
total puissance of God eternal, that in advance
that she will have achieved her total circuit the
Sun will come, & then Saturn. Because according to
the signs caelestial, the reign of Saturn will be
of return, which the all calculated, the world is
approaching, of one anaragonic revolution: & that
of present which this I write in advance of hundred
seventy seven years three months eleven days by
pestilence, long famine, & wars, & more by the
inundations the world between here & this term
prefixed, in advance & after by numerous times,
will be diminished, & so little of the world will
be, that we will not to find who would want to take
the fields: which will remain free also at length:
which they, have been in servitude & that as for to
the visible judgment caelestial, that still that we
are in the seventh number of thousand which achieve
the all us approaching of the eighth, where is the
firmament of the eighth sphere, which is in
dimension latitudinal, where the great God eternal
will come to achieve the revolution, where the
images caelestial will return to them to move & the
movement, superior which us render the earth stable
& firm not inclined in to the age of ages: outside
to put as his wanting will be accomplished, but not
ever otherwise how much that by ambiguous opinions
exceeds all reasons natural by dreams Mathematic,
also not at any time God the creator by the
ministries of his messengers of fire, inflame
missive comes to propose to the senses exterior
evenly to our eyes, the causes of the future
prediction, significator of the case future which
he owes to the one whose presage to manifest.
Because the presage which he makes from the light
exterior comes infallibly to judge part with which,
& by means of the lighted exterior: how much truly
that the part whose semblance to have by the eye of
the understanding, that which not is by the lesion
of the sense imaginative, the reason is by too
evident, the all to be predicted by afflation of
divinity, & by the means of the spirit angelic
inspired to the man prophesying, rendering
anointment of vaticinations, the coming to
illuminate, him is moving the front of the fantasy
by diverse nocturnal apparitions than by diurnal
certitude prophesy by, administration Astronomic
conjoined of the most sanctified future prediction,
not considering elsewhere than to courage free.
Come to this hour to understand, my son, that I
find by my revolutions that are accordant to
revealed inspiration, that the mortal sword is
approaching of us now by pestilence, war more
horrible than to life of three men ever to have
been, & famine, which one will fall in earth, &
there will return often, because the Stars are
accordingly to the revolution, & also to say:
Visiting in the rod of iron iniquities theirs, and
in whips beating them: because the mercifulness of
God not will be ever dispersed one time, my son,
that the more part of my Prophecies, will be
accomplished, & will come to be by accomplishment
revolved. Then by numerous times during the
sinister tempests, Crush to pieces self, dire the
Seignior, and break in two, and not be merciful, &
thousand other adventures which will advent by them
& continual rains, as more at plain I've redacted
by script to mine others. Prophecies which are
composed all at length, in unbound oration,
limiting the places, times & the terms prefixed
that the humans after Venus will see, cognizing the
adventures to advent infallibly, as we have noted
by the others speaking, more clearly,
notwithstanding that under a cloud will be
comprised the intelligences: but when to remove the
time comes the ignorance, the case will be more
clarified. Making an end, my son, take then this
gift from your father Michel Nostradamus, hoping
you to declare one each one Prophecy of the
quatrains here put Praying God immortal, that he
you would want to advance life long, in good &
prosperous felicity.
