"Email" command not responsive

I'm using Firefox 3.5.5, Mac OS X Version 10.6.2, and running Ubiquity
0.5.4.
The "email" command does not respond. I can invoke Ubiquity and type
"email", or the other variants thereof, e.g. "email to
per...@emailaddress.com", and the command window will seem to respond
appropiately, but when I press "Enter", nothing happens.
Other Ubiquity commands do work (haven't tested them all, but I tried
a few and they seemed to work as intended). This includes "Get Last
Email" and the various search functions.
I've tried disabling my other extensions, but even when Ubiquity is
the only add-on running, the email command still won't work.
Any help?

Well, I tried poking around a little more after posting my message,
and it turns out that if I have Gmail open on a tab in Firefox (or in
another FF window), it won't work, but it seems to otherwise work
fine, including on other Google sites where I'm logged in.
This little error pops up when I invoke Ubiquity, type "email" and
press Enter:

Which is to say, the Email command works properly IFF a Gmail tab is
not already open. If a Gmail tab is open, nothing happens when I use

Exactly the situation with my installation. Also, the email that
opens does not have the link nicely formatted as before.

The Gmail API (http://code.google.com/p/gmail-greasemonkey/wiki/GmailGreasemonkey10API) we use for "email" seems to be having issue recently.

I tested on my systems and so far it fails on OSX and Linux Ubuntu
9.1.0 but that would be expected if the email function is really
broken and it is not a conflict with something else.

really unfortunate because this is the main reason I use ubiquity...
in addition I'd been having issues loading images recently in the

I wish I had the power to fix this, but I'm just a casual ubiquity
fan..
decided to a take a look at aza's blog today and try out the latest
ubiquity, and no love on the gmail contact scraping nor the new
message composition from ubiquity command line when gmail is open in
another tab or window..
the new image editing through pixastic is rad.. but I hope gmail's
ubiquity functionality isn't dead for good :-(

Confirmed. I cannot use the Ubiquity "email" and "email to" verbs when
I have a Gmail tab already open. This is happening with Ubiquity 0.5.4
on Firefox 3.5.6.
