Hi There,

Is there an easy way to convert WikiBooks http://wikibooks.org/ into
multiple TW's (one TW
per chapter)and have the main contents TOC linked to TW's without much
manual editing ?
I tried the backstage import MediaWiki format of TW2.3.0 but no
Tiddlers were found either from www, files, WikiBooks or WikiPedia.

Thanks, Dix

You might try the MediaWikiAdaptorPlugin and MediaWikiFormatterPlugin,
available here:
http://martinswiki.com

Please let us know whether that works for you.

Thanks FND, for the hint.
Well, MediaWikiFormatterPlugin basically formatted, but many html
controls
did not convert:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://
www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<a name="top" id="top"></a>
var wgNotice = ""; var wgNoticeLocal = ""; var wgNoticeLang = "en";
var wgNoticeProject = "wikipedia"; </script>
<h1 class="firstHeading">Embedded C++</h1>
<h3 id="siteSub">From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia</h3>
....

In contrast: Imported WikiBooks chapters look perfect by simply
inserting a <html> tag on top.
The formatter does not help with the TOC-link task.

You should use the MediaWikiAdaptor for pulling in the data.
How did you do it?

There is a table of contents plugin, which Saq has updated:

Here's the original thread:

Are there any instructions how to use it ? Is it compatible with 2.3.0
core ? I tried hard but did not find any instructions or requirements.

Cut and pasted the html source into a tiddler and tagged it as
MediaWikiFormat

This is cool. Big WorkSimplifier. Highly recommended for organizing
longer text.
Thank you so much FND for notification and Saq for bringing it out.

I have never used it myself, but I believe once installed, you can
select it as a server-type in the import wizard (accessible through the
backstage).

I'm afraid that's never gonna work.

If you have long texts in a single tiddler, you might want to consider
splitting those into multiple tiddlers:
http://www.tiddlywiki.com/#MicroContent
I admit, though, that some of my own tiddlers are quite lengthy as well.

Please note that the original plugin was created by Doug Compton; Saq
has made it compatible with TiddlyWiki v2.2.
