So I ordered a parts kit, and received it yesterday. There's a few hardware components missing, so I'm wondering if anyone knows a place that sells 2809 or 608 bearings in the Troy area.

The best way to get parts like that is to order them online. VXB.com is the place to get bearings.

Depending on how many and how fast you need 608 bearings, you can go to a thrift store and pick up some rollerblades.  There are 2 bearings per wheel, so use that as a guide to how many you need.
