Fort Pierce, FL. Pastor Kenneth Johnson, recently convicted of having sex
with a minor, and Friendship Missionary Baptist Church -- where he
reportedly continues to minister -- were named in a sex-abuse lawsuit
filed Tuesday. Johnson, 39, is scheduled to be sentenced Friday on one
count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. He faces up to 15 years on

Athens, GA. Ralph Tulk, 63, was arrested Tuesday and charged with five
counts of child molestation for allegedly inappropriately touching five
children at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church over several years. He was
superintendent of the Sunday school program when some of the alleged
molestations took place and was treasurer of the church until last month,
according to police and the church. Dickerson and many other residents of
this Northeast Georgia city -- most of whom were willing to share their
thoughts about the case but not be quoted -- said they worry about the
church, but aren't yet convinced of the allegations. "This is America, and

Bryan, TX. A pastor was arrested and released from jail Monday night after
he was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. Ford was
indicted earlier this month based on an allegation he had sexually
assaulted a teenage boy who went on a trip with the pastor to the Texas
Panhandle more than two years ago. Ford was pastor from the New Zion
Missionary Baptist Church in Bryan where he had served for 17 years.

teenage boy. Idaho Falls police charged a long-time religious leader with
five counts of lewd conduct with a minor. 46-year-old Steven Michael
Sheridan, the former pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist Church has been
arrested-- this after police recorded two recent phone conversations
between the victim and Sheridan. Sheridan was the pastor of St. Paul's
United Methodist Church five years ago when the alleged crimes occurred.
Since then, he's been pastor of another church. The victim who was 13 at
the time, and is now 18, said Sheridan was like a mentor. They took trips
together, and during those trips, Sheridan touched him sexually. One time,
the pastor allegedly touched the boys genitals saying he was checking for

by instrumentation and one count of lewd molestation of a child. He was
jailed about 2 a.m. Saturday and is being held in lieu of $200,000 bail.
The allegations have no apparent link to his work as a schoolteacher but
to his leadership of a small religious group called Church Life, Tulsa
police said. The
victim and her mother met Rockstroh through Church Life, whose members
meet in each others' homes, Detective Chuck Haywood said. "There is not a
pastor of the church, but everyone considered him to be the guy in
charge," Haywood said of Rockstroh. During an interview with police,
Rockstroh admitted that he had molested the girl on three occasions, jail

TISHOMINGO, OK. Kentucky pastor accused of raping a 12-year-old Oklahoma
girl has surrendered to Johnston County officials. The Rev. Chadwick L.
Keathley, associate pastor of Ark of Mercy Church of God in Winchester,
Ky., responded Tuesday to an arrest warrant issued Aug. 26. Prosecutors
charged Keathley, 27, with lewd molestation, first-degree rape and rape by
instrumentation. He was released after posting a $25,000 cash bond and an
Oct. 22 preliminary hearing was scheduled. The alleged incident occurred
during summer 2000 at a Church of God gathering at Camp Bond Youth Camp

How about proof of, at the MINIMUM, High School graduation before a
breeding permit is issued? That could be vastly improved upon by

Shockley made similar points. As did hundreds of scientists,
thinkers, and politicians around the globe about the time of the
Second World War. The thinking is not entirely without merit.
Although, in the case of Shockley, the reasoning was cold. Often
cruelly discriminatory. And not just along racial lines.
But implementation of this thinking becomes histrionically
problematic on its face. The issue is not the improvement of the
species. But how, and by whom, the eugenic decisions are made.
Indeed, the very definition of the terms 'positive eugenics,'
carries with it a chilling implication rooted in politics. Not
unlike what some opponents to the health care bill have expressed
over the last year.
But a significant distinction is borne in the terms
'intelligence,' and 'stupid,' themselves.
Kevin, 'stupid' is not the opposite of 'intelligence.' A hard

intelligence may be just as stupid as low. 'Stupid' is based in
choices, not brain power. Choosing to engage one's mouth before
releasing the clutch on the brain has created historically stupid

admitted he knew nothing of the facts of the case, but condemned the
police as having acted stupidly.
A stupid comment on its face, by an intelligent man...regardless
of what we think of his politics.
You're right. Stupidity begets stupidity squared. We see that
every day in this country. And in other countries around the world.
But the solution is not eugenic improvement of species'
intelligence. The solution is better education, even training, if
you will, of individuals to chamber their brain before releasing the
safety on their mouths.
That's not a function of IQ. That's a function of social values.
I had a GM who used to say of one of the staff, "She's a 286 in
a Pentium world."
I had to point out that the computer running the radio station
was a 286 running DOS. And that it never crashed. Never locked up.
Ran 24/7 and never created a billing error, pulled a wrong playlist,
or printed an incorrect log. And that he'd done more boneheaded
things that have cost far more in the corporate environment running
his P2 and Windows.
He realized the analogy.
Speaking generally, low intelligence individuals are not
individuals of low value. They may not be astrophysicists, and
neurosurgery may not be a good career choice, but they do play an
integral role in society. They work, they own homes. They
participate in the economy. They participate in society. They create
art. Many often display eerily incisive wisdom. They may be a little
less self insightful, but they're not valueless. And simply deciding
to breed them out of the species is both arrogant and, in a very
real sense, counter productive, even when speaking of genetics.
But, again, the major issue is the one of implementation. Who
would decide what is a 'positive eugenic?' And who would make the
decision who may and may not breed. I can think of no one, no one
man, one woman, or one committee...no one...whom I'd trust to make
that decision. And I certainly wouldn't want it left to machines.
Even supercomputers are inadequate to that task.
There are reasons eugenics has fallen out of favor among
thinkers and scientists. The theories were debunked decades ago with
the realization that artificial eugenics are unnecessary, and
undesirable. That Nature can more effectively, and with surprising
agility and stability, remove unproductive genes from the pool. That
Natural selection, though a work in progress, is always working,
and, most importantly, politically blind. And though your thinking
about birth rates on the long term impact on the culture is correct,
on the long term impact on the species it is not.
Education is a more far reaching, effective, and catholically
applicable strategy to improving the state of Man, by ridding it of
stupidity, than is eugenics.
And more importantly, it can even be applied to those of lesser
inate intelligence with great result.
