I suppose the objective view would be that the air strikes on command and
air targets levels the playing field. Nothing about a "no fly zone" keeps
either side from shooting rockets or bullets.

a coalition government to have elections. Likelihood small but not
impossible.
Second best is that he gets offed and the military decides to back
down and work with the "allies" to organize a coalition government and
have elections. A little bit more likely than the first.
Either one is preferable to the two you came up with, even if they are
less likely.

Actually, I don't disagree. This one looks like an impeachable
offense, despite the potental for a positive outcome. My guess is
that Obama knows this and figures it was worth the risk.
The problem is that every politician of every stripe also knows that
nearly *every* President of both parties has done something that could
be construed as impeachable. Frankly, nobody wants to go there except
the guys on the margins. Also note that much of the criticism comes
from the anti-war and -oil Left. Assuming the U.S. pulls out as the
admin has claimed it will, and even moreso if the effort has a
positive outcome, I'll be surprised if this has any traction at all 6
months from now.

True. As have others. There simply is no predicting the outcome
where madness is at play. It could just as easily have gone in a
very different direction.
By the time someone has risen to any appreciable level of power,
their belief in self has grown to a point where they believe that
they can't be denied. Overlay madness on that template, and you end
up, more often than not, with a mindset of impervious entitlement.
Reality, or not, it's the mindset of the tyrant that spurs his
action. And that mindset, bouyed by power, makes abuse an
effortless, and remorseless commodity.
In such cases, even if a tyrant is deposed, there will be a
relentless attempt, by any means necessary to recover power. And
punish the deposers.
Idi Amin was clearly convinced that his mindset of impervious
entitlement may have been erroneous. Which would have been a
preexisting mindset to his acquisition of power. More opportunism
than ambition.
Such cases are rare.
And underestimating an ambitious, entitled madman is a dangerous
step.
It may be possible to convince someone to step down. But the cost
of being wrong can be horrific.
Ghadafi will not go easily. And will not stay gone without
compelling force.
There is wisdom in the saw: Do not strike at a King, unless you
are prepared to kill him.
History has often proven, this.

In my neighborhood, the garbage truck runs on Tuesday and Friday
mornings, usually at about 7:30 AM.No certain times to move our (we call
them garbage cans around here) garbage cans out front and then after the
garbage truck guys have emptied them and move them from the front by the
street.Some people leave their garbage cans out front for a day or two
or three, whenever they feel like moving them.We don't seperate the
glass and the plastic and the paper or cardboard either.We throw it all
in one garbage can.Sometimes I use one or more 45 gallon size plastic
garbage bags when I rake my yard.We have Garbage Can Freedom around here
in backwater hick Missy Sippy.

We use Waste Management, which provides us with bins. They come once a
week. We have Trash, Mixed Recycle, and Green (plant) Waste. The trucks
have a crew of 1. They videotape your trash and your house, BTW.
